freetail worked with Hogbox Studios to produce a flooring visualiser system for amtico, 188 products, 49 laying patterns, 9 motifs and 13 borders can all be viewed in template or customers uploaded photographs on the LG 55″ touch screen, with the ability to email customer photos to the screen, and using 3D imaging software, we have been deploying into the amtico network of independant retailers since May 2015.
Better communication was the driver for East Kent College, which evolved into multiple projects that would enable better, faster and slicker ways to interact with the student community at the college.

Homebase is a perfect showcase for our touch screen applications, there is the double award winning “Create Your Own Look” in-store decorating tool, and a web version, which currently enjoys 10,000 users a month. we also support a standalone touch screen kiosk in each of the 346 stores, where regular updates featuring “how to” videos have been deployed. There is also Plantfinder, the in-store and web site version of a digital catalogue for finding your perfect plant.
Scotmid commissioned freetail to design an application for students to apply for a discount card via a kiosk in their stores, we had 6-8 weeks to produce a robust and scaleable solution. Key to Scotmid was integration into their own IT infrastructure to process the data. Supplied and installed within 6 weeks, the kiosks are now in regular use.
“We would like an interactive community notice board” was the statement from Stewart Ross, senior projects manager at Scotmid, somewhere for our customers and members to find out more about us, a system to allow two way feedback which can be updated quickly, easily and from a central point.
The Community touch screen was developed and deployed in 12 weeks, featuring community news, customer feedback, local suppliers, membership news, recipe ideas and meet the team. The system even won an award for best use of digital in a retail store!
There had been a 20 year association with Toys R Us, where freetail supported installation, maintenance and digital signage solutions, regular visits through the year to Toys R Us UK 80 store estate was covered by our network of regional engineers.
In 2005, freetail director, Stuart was instrumental in one of the largest retail digital signage networks, where Toys R Us installed an average of 24 screens in each of their stores, refreshed in 2011, the network of LED backlight 18.5” displays, backed by content support, represents the scale of our capabilities.
We are working with Toys R Us Inc on in-store retail theatre and digital signage projects to deploy globally across their own and there increasing estate of franchise stores.
